VINNumber.ca provides VIN-based vehicle information services, including but not limited to:

  • VIN Decoding Services
  • Vehicle Specifications and Factory Information
  • Vehicle Research Tools and Resources

All products are delivered electronically and become available immediately after a successful purchase.

In some cases, delivery may be delayed due to technical issues, data-source interruptions, maintenance, or circumstances beyond our control. If you experience delivery issues, please contact our support team so we can investigate and resolve the matter.

4. Licence and Permitted Use

The Services provided or made available to you directly or indirectly by VINNumber.ca are licensed, not sold, to you. Unless otherwise stated in this Section 4, and provided that you comply at all times with applicable laws and these Terms of Use, VINNumber.ca grants you a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and non-sublicensable licence (the "Licence") to access and use the Services solely for the purposes for which they are intended and in accordance with these Terms of Use and any instructions or documentation provided by VINNumber.ca.

In the case of the Website, the Licence granted to you is limited solely to obtaining information about VINNumber.ca and the services we offer, and to submitting inquiries to us. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the Website may only be accessed and used through the interfaces generally made available by VINNumber.ca.

In the case of any online application, tool, or web service provided by VINNumber.ca, the Licence granted to you is limited solely to requesting and receiving vehicle history reports, VIN decoding information, recall information, specifications, market values, and any other vehicle-related information or data made available by VINNumber.ca.

You acknowledge and agree that the Licence granted under these Terms of Use does not convey any ownership rights in the Services or their content. VINNumber.ca reserves the right to suspend, restrict, or revoke the Licence at any time, with or without notice, and the Licence shall automatically terminate immediately upon your breach of these Terms of Use or any applicable law.

5. Prohibited Use

You agree not to:

  • Copy, reproduce, republish, distribute, sell, license, or commercially exploit reports, window stickers, or website content without written authorization
  • Use automated tools, bots, spiders, crawlers, scripts, or scraping technologies to access the Website or Services
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to identify data sources, methodologies, or underlying systems
  • Build competing products, databases, or services using information obtained from our platform
  • Misrepresent your identity or impersonate another individual or organization

Our Services are not intended to be used as consumer reports or consumer reporting services under applicable Canadian, provincial, or foreign laws governing employment screening, tenant screening, credit decisions, or insurance eligibility determinations.

You agree not to use information obtained from our Services for:

  • Employment decisions
  • Tenant screening
  • Credit evaluations
  • Insurance underwriting decisions requiring regulated consumer reporting
  • Any purpose prohibited by applicable privacy or consumer reporting laws

Users remain solely responsible for ensuring that their use of report information complies with applicable laws and regulations.

7. Orders, Pricing, and Payment

All prices displayed on the Website are subject to change without notice.

By completing a purchase, you authorize VINNumber.ca and its payment processing partners to charge your selected payment method for the applicable amount.

Payments may be processed through trusted third-party providers, including:

  • Visa

  • Other authorized payment processors

VINNumber.ca does not store complete payment card information on its servers.

8. Digital Product Delivery and Access

Vehicle reports and window stickers are digital products delivered electronically.

By placing an order, you acknowledge that:

  • You are responsible for entering the correct VIN and purchase information
  • Access to purchased products may be linked to your email address or account
  • Product availability may vary depending on vehicle eligibility and available records
  • Access may be restricted if fraud, abuse, or payment irregularities are detected

If you experience difficulties accessing your purchase, please contact our support team before initiating a dispute or chargeback.

9. Refund Policy

Because our products are digital and often generated immediately upon request, refunds are limited to the circumstances outlined below.

Once a report or window sticker has been successfully generated and delivered, purchases are generally considered final unless otherwise required by applicable law.

A. Vehicle History Reports

A refund may be considered in the following situations:

Duplicate Purchases

If multiple charges are made for the same VIN report within a reasonable period, duplicate charges may be refunded following verification.

Non-Delivery

If payment is successful but a report cannot be generated and our support team is unable to provide the report within 48 hours after notification, a refund may be issued.

Refunds will generally not be granted because:

  • A report contains limited information
  • Data availability differs between vehicles
  • The customer disagrees with report findings
  • The vehicle history contains negative information
  • Certain events were never reported to available data providers

B. Window Stickers

A refund may be considered in the following circumstances:

Technical Failure or Non-Delivery

If a purchased window sticker cannot be generated due to technical issues and we are unable to resolve the issue within 48 hours after notification, a full or partial refund may be issued.

Duplicate Purchases

Accidental duplicate purchases for the same vehicle may qualify for a refund following verification.

Inability to Provide an Eligible Sticker

If reasonable efforts and revisions have been made and we are unable to provide an accurate window sticker for an eligible vehicle, a full or partial refund may be issued at our discretion.

C. Refund Request Requirements

Refund requests must be submitted within seven (7) days of purchase and should include:

  • The email address used for purchase
  • VIN
  • Order or transaction details
  • Explanation of the issue

Eligible requests are typically reviewed within seven business days.

D. Chargebacks

Customers are encouraged to contact support before initiating a payment dispute.

If a chargeback is filed without first providing us with an opportunity to resolve the issue, we may:

  • Suspend or terminate account access
  • Restrict future purchases
  • Provide transaction records, access logs, and delivery records to the payment processor as evidence during dispute investigations.

10. Intellectual Property Rights

All Website content, reports, window stickers, software, trademarks, logos, graphics, databases, and related materials are owned by VINNumber.ca or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, publish, sell, or commercially exploit our content without prior written permission.

The Website may contain links to third-party websites, applications, or services.

These third parties operate independently from VINNumber.ca and maintain their own policies and practices.

We do not endorse and are not responsible for the content, availability, accuracy, or privacy practices of third-party services.

Your use of third-party services is at your own risk.

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Website and Services are provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, VINNumber.ca disclaims all warranties, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including warranties relating to:

  • Reports will contain every available record
  • Services will operate without interruption
  • Errors will never occur

Vehicle information is obtained from third-party and proprietary sources and may contain omissions, delays, or inaccuracies.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, VINNumber.ca shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from or related to:

  • Use of the Services
  • Inability to access the Services
  • Reliance on information contained within reports or window stickers
  • Technical interruptions or service failures

Our total liability for any claim relating to the Services shall not exceed the amount paid for the specific product giving rise to the claim.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless VINNumber.ca, its affiliates, directors, officers, employees, contractors, suppliers, licensors, and partners from any claims, liabilities, losses, damages, costs, or expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising from:

15. Suspension and Termination

VINNumber.ca reserves the right to suspend, restrict, or terminate access to the Website or Services at any time if we reasonably believe that:

  • Fraudulent activity has occurred

Upon termination, your right to use the Services immediately ceases.

Severability

No Waiver

Failure to enforce any provision shall not constitute a waiver of that provision or any other provision.

Assignment

VINNumber.ca may assign or transfer its rights and obligations under these Terms without notice. Users may not assign their rights without prior written consent.
